Big Mac Boxers Specialize in

Exquisite Type, Top Quality, Health Tested, European Boxers.

Our dogs come from outstanding working & conformation lineages from Germany. These pedigrees produces a wonderful headpiece, large square bone structure, excellent temperament, along with natural working/protection capabilities. I pay close attention to dominant and recessive gene traits for this is needed to fix a lot of health concerns in the breed. It is true that Boxers have more than their share of health concerns, and while it may be impossible to completely remove them from the breed altogether, I do my best as a Breeder, to try and adhere and lesson the affects through breeding health tested European dogs from quality old world lineages that have shown there longevity & health throughout there pedigree. That is not to say that I wouldn’t like to see significant improvement in the breed (along with my breeding program) over the next 10 years…My main priority and concern is to focus on healthy hearts and longevity! I prefer to breed dogs closer to the FCI standard (European) as opposed to the American type for I adore more bone, working abilities/personalities, along with “outstanding head piece”  so i only have German Pedigrees. All of our adult dogs have had their echocardiograms preformed by the renowned Kate Meurs & Associates from Washington State with excellent results. We also use our own Lexington, Ky native cardiologist Johanna M Reimer as well she practices at Rood & Riddle it is a state of the art facility. Other testing we also perform is Thyroid T1 T2 T3 & T4 along with full blood panels, Hips/Elbows, Eye Certification, & DNA Certified.

Our imported boxers are from quality Old World, Reputable Kennels in Germany, Finland, Hungary, & Belgium. We feel this is where the finest dogs are produced and have been since the origination of the breed. Our puppies are bred with great attention to the genotype, phenotype, temperament, along with the health of the parents, grandparents, including the rest of their entire family tree. Breeding selections are carefully made to produce the complete package that have the genetic foundation of proper conformation, working ability, along with outstanding health & longevity! The breed standard (AKC &/or FCI) states that all boxers must have proper proportions. Our dogs all have that beautiful square body, nicely turned up snub nose, along with amazing trophy head. Our German (FCI) breeding endeavors emphasize size, bone structure, and make a more muscular well-defined boxer that has superior intelligence, ultimate on/off working drive, & correct temperament desired in the breed. Our females weigh from 65 to 85 lbs. and males from 80 to 95 lbs. You cannot find a more loyal, devoted, and affectionate family member!

We are a small enthusiast kennel in Northern, Kentucky. (About 20 minutes south of Cincinnati, Ohio) My husband, children and I have a strong love for this breed. We are small business owners by trade, and boxer lovers at heart! Big Mac Boxers was established in 1997 when God blessed us with our first German/American boxer (McElroy’s Big Mac Attack CGC). “Mac” changed our lives forever with his charm, unconditional love, superior intelligence and wonderful protection skills. (Please read our In Memory of Mac page) From that time, we fell in love with the breed. After several years of research we purchased a daughter of “AM BISS BIS Brookwood’s Dream Dancer SOM LOM” “Danny” x “Brookwood’s Place Your Bets DOM” then started showing in conformation, when the time was right we bred “Kailua” (Big Mac Kailua n Cream) to Mac. That’s when “Jauger” came into our lives. (Int. CH Big Mac’s “Jauger” Bomb CGC) He was stunning from birth. He is a flashy, red fawn, with double dark haws, amazing top line, nice tight feet, and outstanding straight bite. His perfect conformation, temperament, and outstanding American lineage, made him a treasure. At this time we decided to embark on our journey to get some outstanding European lines. We have carefully hand selected and imported dogs with desirable German lineage on outstanding genetics & longevity in there “rare” to US pedigrees.

I have imported multiple puppies from exclusive German linages whose infamous lines include many Ati-box Ch, Multi Ch & World Ch. in conformation as well as some of the top working SCH and IPO titled dogs of all time. Some of our lines include World Ch Joshua Z Ringu IPO3 SCH3 / Fender Edda/della Cadormare/colle dell’ Infinito /Boksdoorn/Atibox CH Magic boy von Santana SCH 3 BH AD/German Dream/ Cavaliere del Monferrato/Schlingengrund/Hause Rehberg/Sonnen Aufgang /des Courtillieres/Massumatico/Sembacher Flur/Val d’ Europe/Hazenburg/ along with many others. These importing endeavors will emphasize everything I love and adore in the breed and bring it here to the US! (Each of our dogs pedigrees have a clickable link on there individual pages)

Then take this to the next level of planning your next family member with aptitude testing. (Please read about this (PAT) Aptitude testing) If looking for a quality puppy to work, breed, show, or new best friend/family member you must call early to be put on our waiting list. Please take into consideration that you might have to wait between 3 to 6 months for one of our puppies, but it’s worth the wait! All of our pet puppies including white are placed on a spay/neuter contract, all of our breeding/show puppies are contracted to ensure proper health testing, breeding, unless being placing with established reputable breeder or breeders outside the US or Canada unless other arrangements are made. Our dogs receive premium dog food and vitamins through pregnancy and whelp, our puppies are supplemented every 3-6 hours after birth to ensure proper hydration, and nutrition, for optimal health. Just another way to make sure our puppies are off to the right start! Puppies that are bottle feed are better bonded to humans than those that are not. Bottle-feeding is done to supplement, not replace, the mandatory mother/puppy bond. Our puppies are raised in a clean whelping room of our home to form their foundation. Cleanliness makes them want to stay clean throughout their lives and makes house training much easier. At 6 weeks crate training has begun and they are exposed to an airline crate so that they can adapt easily at their new homes where kennels are used for housebreaking and containment. Our family handles and plays with our puppies often to socialize them and get them accustom to being with humans, paying special attention to their teeth and feet. I begin cutting their nails before their eyes open to expose them to nail clippers and after 6 weeks of age to a dremel so that this is not a scary experience for them along with bathing. All of our puppies are raised in our home with their family and aptitude tested to be placed with the correct family. They are vet-checked and have a FULL evaluation, current on shots/wormed, prior to leaving at 8-10 weeks of age.
